Dress Code for 2011-12
DRESS CODE – The appearance of a student is the responsibility of the student and the parents. We expect students to maintain an appearance which is not distracting to teachers or other students nor draws undue attention or in any way disrupts the instructional program of the school. Therefore, a dress code has been initiated. Neat, clean and modest are the basic guidelines.
- Hair is to be neat, clean and well trimmed. Hair should not cover the eyes or face. Boys hair should be modest length (Collar length maximum). We request that both boys and girls refrain from coloring their hair.
- Boys may not wear earrings in school.
DRESS ATTIRE ( for both Boys and Girls)
- Pants – Solid color slack or jeans. No holes, tears, skin-tight, low riders shorts, skirts, jumper or skorts – Plaids or any solid color. No short shorts
- Shirts or Blouse – Solid color or stripes. MUST have collar
- Belts
- Sweater, Sweatshirt – NO hoods for indoor wear
- Shoes –Closed toe - NO sandals Socks – socks, tights or hose MUST be worn
PERFORMANCE DRESS - On special occasions, students may be requested to wear “Performance Dress.” This consists of:
- Boys – navy pants, white shirt and tie with dress shoes
- Girls – navy skirt or jumper with white shirt or blouse and dress shoes (closed toe) and tights
PHYSICAL EDUCATION DRESS – Grades 5-8
For certain PE activities, gym clothes may be required. The teacher will inform students in advance when they will need to bring gym clothes. They will need to be kept in some style of an athletic bag and need to be marked with student’s name. Athletic shoes worn during the school day are fine for PE.
Students shall show respect and consideration for the property rights of others. If, through carelessness or maliciousness, a child is responsible for damage to school property or the property of another child, he/she will be held accountable. Caps will not be worn in the classroom or in the school or church building. EXCEPTION: Special dress days (i.e., Spirit Week).
